Another San Francisco Bookseller Passes Away

Too soon on the heels of the passing of Jeffrey Thomas, now comes word that Allan Milkerit, a fixture in San Francisco's book building at 2141 Mission Street, has died. This from bookseller John Windle:

On behalf of John Durham at Bolerium Books, San Francisco, it is my sad duty to notify members of the ABAA of the death of Allan Milkerit over the weekend. Allan was found on Monday in his apartment where he had apparently died of natural causes. Please contact John Durham for further details. A memorial service will be announced in due course.

Allan specialized in modern first editions, but he always had an eclectic and interesting inventory that always seemed to be one or two steps ahead of the market.
